RIP What's App for Some Devices

What's app is going to discontinued support for several smartphones from January 1st, 2020. It might be bad news for Windows OS user's as facebook owned messaging-app going to discontinued support for windows phone OS after December 31st, 2019, and the what's app messenger app might get disappeared from Microsoft windows store after July 1st, 2019 it was mentioned in FAQ section of messaging platform.

What's App also said that due to the not actively development on those platforms(Windows Phone OS), some features might stop functioning. Moreover, the whats app withdrawal takes place in the same month when Microsoft discontinued the support for their windows 10 mobile phone OS.

Beginning of this month Microsoft announced that Windows users no longer eligible to receive any kind of update like security, update, patches etc. However, the Office app will continue to get supports and receive updates until January 12th, 2021. Microsoft also recommended their users to change platform from Windows to Android or iOS to use the apps on those Operating Systems Instead.

However, for the windows phone users who is worried about losing their chat history from whats has one option to save chat history

-Open the chat screen of your choice navigate to info (contact info or group info)

after click one menu will appear asking you to download chat with or without media(media include photos, videos, GIF, etc), select your desired option and download all chat backup.

Apart from that, the Whats app will withdraw the support for some older android as well as iOS devices running an older version of the operating system.

Android smartphone running with version 2.3.7 and iPhone running with iOS 8 version will not support whats app from next year(2020).
